The intact nature on Katschberg cannot be taken for granted, which is why the Region Klimaberg Katschberg project was launched. The ambitious goal behind this is to provide the Katschberg with a neutral CO2 balance by 2030. The Klimaerde, which extracts CO2 from the air and stores it for 1,000 years, is the key to success. Not only nature benefits from the numerous additional measures for climate protection, but also our guests:

Biking & more
The Katschberg has plenty to offer for cycling enthusiasts - whether you prefer e-bikes, mountain bikes, or gravel bikes - during an active vacation. Thanks to its prime location right at the foot of the mountain, you’ll be surrounded by bike routes, action-packed trails, and beautiful hiking paths. Start your e-bike tour or hiking trip on the Katschberg right from the hotel. This way, you can explore Aineck, Maltatal, and more on a mountain bike. Cyclists can also ride all the way to Lake Millstatt in Carinthia, where a cool refreshment awaits. By the way: You can rent a bike from the Krabath Sports School right in front of the hotel and are welcome to leave your own at home.
We also have something special for golfers in the area: a 27-hole course in St. Michael and an 18-hole golf course in Millstatt. This way, you can turn your stay at the Active Hotel into a golf vacation. For those seeking even more variety and thrills, the outdoor park offers 200 stations for daredevils with a head for heights—and the summer toboggan run is sure to get your heart racing.

The Katschberg is great located. Much is within walking distance. A couple of minutes' walk to the chairlift, which is included in the Katschberg and can therefore be used free of charge. The Cage, a sports hall with trampolines and opportunities to boulder, is even closer, perfect for older children when the weather is not so nice (also included). A super great big playground (Katschhausen) with rabbits to stroke near the mountain railway and many other playgrounds. The Pony Alm is an hour's walk away, where you can groom and ride ponies (also included in the Katschberg Card). You could also go there by horse-drawn carriage, which stops right next to the back entrance of the Katschberg.
